Phil Campbell has a lifetime of experience in researching best practices and creating new and innovative ways to achieve award-winning levels of performance. He has coached over 20,000 athletes over the years.

 As a Speed Technique Coach, athletes attending his two-day camps have achieved superior levels of performance. Athletes like New England Patriots Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman and Seattle Seahawks Ricardo Lockette, who was one of the fastest receivers in the NFL Combines and retired with several Super Bowl rings, have been to Phil Campbell for speed technique training.

Super Bowl MVP Ray Lewis and Jerry Rice, three-time Super Bowl winner, have trusted Phil Campbell to teach speed techniques to their sons. Raymond Berry, who was the Jerry Rice of his day, recommends his teachings.

He has been a University Strength & Conditioning Coach and track coach. Currently, athletes from across the U.S. and Canada travel to him for his two-session speed technique training camps.

Phil Campbell’s undergraduate degree is from Middle Tennessee State University, and he holds two advanced degrees; M.S. from Central Michigan University and M.A. from Liberty University. He is professionally certified by the American College of Sports Medicine ACSM C-PT and the American College of Healthcare Executives, FACHE-R.

He is the creator of the Sprint 8 Cardio Protocol that is featured in award-winning cardio units made by Matrix Fitness for over 15 years. He is the author of Ready, Set, Go! Fitness, a 384-page fitness book with 170-research citations. Initially published in 2000, this book is now in the second edition, ninth printing.  He authored the Sprint 8 Cardio Protocol in 2016 after conducting two hospital-based research projects investigating the impact of the Sprint 8 Protocol on exercise-induced growth hormone, cholesterol reduction, sprint-intensity cardio vs statin drugs, and body composition.

Phil Campbell has been cited as an expert in exercise-induced growth hormone, anaerobic exercise and speed technique. He teaches a 3-hour CEU/CEC approved course across the US that certifies coaches and trainers to teach the Sprint 8 Cardio Protocol. He is originally from Tennessee and now based in San Jose, California at ClubSport San Jose.
